Kari-On Productions is proud to introduce
The Chris Thomas Band
A native of Chicago and long time resident of Jacksonville, Florida, Chris Thomas combines dance, vocals, and the best musicians in north Florida to deliver an unforgettable performance. Chris represents the Great American Songbook and everything that it signifies. He combines the style and swagger of Sinatra and Martin, the performance excitement of James Brown and Bruno Mars, and the vocals and reckless attitude of Louie Prima, Louie Armstrong and Jack Jones. Formed in 2014, The Chris Thomas Band specializes in the performance of vintage Rat Pack, soulful Motown, as well as current popular songs custom arranged for big band by its own band members.
Only the Beginning fulfills a lifelong dream of sharing the music of master artists such as Count Basie, Frank Sinatra, Duke Ellington and Joe Williams and the soul of Motown artists.
One of our favorite duos is Frank Sinatra with the Count Basie Orchestra. Come Fly With Me, Fly Me to the Moon and Where or When are performed based on the tremendous influence of the live album Sinatra at the Sands. Alright Okay You Winis dedicated to the amazing album Count Basie Swings, Joe Williams Sings. Cake by the Ocean is a salsa arrangement of the pop hit by DNCE, arranged by CTB member Steve Strawley and represents Chris’s extensive latin and ballroom dancing background. Just My Imagination / The Walk shows our love for the Motown sound and current artist Mayer Hawthorne. Our hope is that the listener will feel the energy, excitement and passion that The Chris Thomas Band embodies not only on this recording but at every Chris Thomas Band performance.
